Altek Corporation was established in 1996, as a cooperative venture by the Yulon Group (Taiwan's leading automaker), and the China Development Industrial Bank. From day one, Altek strived to achieve excellence in the R&D and manufacture of digital camera. Since 2008, Altek became one of the largest DSC ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) of the world. In the recent years, Altek expanded into the medical, automobile electronics, and other new businesses. Over the years, Altek demonstrated its ability as an entrepreneur solution provider for various imaging technologies.
Altek is an international corporation with substantial human and monetary resources abroad and at home. Altek Corporation has NT$3.955 billion in capital, and more than 5,500 employees in total at multiple locations in the world - Hsinchu Science Park (Taiwan), the Altek Research & Development Center in Taipei / Neihu (Taiwan) and the company's branch office in Los Angeles, United States. Approval was secured in 2000 to open a global production center in Kunshan, near Shanghai, China. In order to expand manufacturing capability due to increasing orders, in 2011, Altek has set up a second factory in Kunshan, to increase the production capacity for DSC, medical products, automatove image system, and other image products.
